Punjab launches digital platform to connect youth directly with Maryam Nawaz

By Tanveer Ahmed :

Punjab has introduced a new digital platform aimed at strengthening public participation in governance, allowing citizens especially young people to communicate directly with the Chief Minister for the first time.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the initiative, called “Talk to CM,” at a ceremony in Lahore. The portal is designed to collect public feedback, policy ideas, and suggestions on government projects, with a strong emphasis on youth engagement.

Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb termed the launch a “landmark development” in Punjab’s governance system. She explained that a separate digital section has been created for young citizens aged 20 and above, enabling them to share their views directly with the Chief Minister’s Office.

“This platform gives young people a direct voice in shaping public policy,” Aurangzeb said. “They can submit recommendations on development initiatives, social issues, and the overall direction of government programs.”

The initiative aligns with the provincial government’s declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Youth,” reflecting a broader strategy to involve younger generations in decision-making processes. Officials described the portal as the first step under this vision and the most comprehensive citizen engagement tool introduced in Punjab so far.

Users of the platform will be able to submit ideas along with basic personal information, promoting accountability and meaningful interaction. Authorities believe the system will help bridge the gap between policymakers and the public, while also tapping into the creativity and innovation of Punjab’s large youth population.

The government hopes the “Talk to CM” portal will foster transparency, build public trust, and encourage more inclusive and responsive governance across the province.
