OpenAI today announced a major upgrade to its image generation capabilities with the release of the new ChatGPT Images, powered by an advanced model called GPT Image 1.5. The improved feature is designed to deliver faster image creation and more precise editing while preserving key visual details such as lighting, composition, and facial likeness. The feature is rolling out to ChatGPT users globally.
According to OpenAI, the updated image model can generate results up to four times faster than earlier versions, making iteration and creative exploration significantly more efficient. The new Images experience introduces a dedicated space within the ChatGPT interface that includes preset styles and inspirations, enabling users to quickly generate visuals without needing detailed prompts.
Unlike many standalone image tools, ChatGPT Images now integrates tightly with ChatGPT’s conversational interface, allowing users to create and edit images directly within their chats.
