Motorola appears poised to rejoin the flagship smartphone segment after a considerable gap, with new leaks indicating that the company is preparing to launch the Edge 70 Ultra. The last time Motorola released a truly high-end model was the Edge 50 Ultra in 2024, and it now seems the manufacturer plans to skip the “Edge 60 Ultra” branding entirely, moving straight to its next-generation premium device.
According to early reports, the Edge 70 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, the chipmaker’s latest top-tier processor. A leaked render shows the handset’s back panel in two color options, featuring a triple-camera module and a newly introduced AI button, suggesting deeper integration of on-device artificial intelligence.
Earlier leaks have pointed to an OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, as well as a configuration offering 16GB of RAM, positioning the phone clearly in flagship territory. The device is also expected to launch with Android 16 pre-installed.
While official details remain scarce, more leaks and confirmations are anticipated in the coming weeks. If the reports hold true, the Edge 70 Ultra could signal Motorola’s strongest flagship push in years, marking a renewed challenge in the competitive high-end smartphone market.
