K-Electric has announced scheduled power outages across 29 electricity feeders in Karachi on July 8, 2026, as part of routine maintenance to improve the reliability and performance of the city’s power distribution network.
According to the utility, maintenance work will be carried out at different locations between 8:00am and 11:00pm, with outage durations varying by feeder. Residents in affected areas may experience electricity interruptions ranging from one hour to nearly 15 hours, depending on the maintenance schedule.
The company said the temporary shutdowns are necessary to carry out transformer maintenance and other technical work aimed at ensuring a more stable and efficient electricity supply.
List of Affected Feeders and Timings
The following feeders will remain without electricity during their scheduled maintenance windows:
- Al-Ghori: 8:59am – 5:59pm
- Ali Doulat: 8:59am – 5:59pm
- Al-Noor Society: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Baba Wilayat: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Barkat Market: 9:59am – 4:59pm
- Defence-30: 8:59am – 5:59pm
- Fabric Industry: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Hingorabad: 7:59am – 5:59pm
- Hussaini RMU: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- Ittehad Cottage Industry: 7:01am – 5:51pm
- Jama Cloth RMU: 8:59am – 5:59pm
- KDA Employee Society: 9:00am – 6:00pm
- KDA Overseas Bungalows: 9:00am – 6:00pm

K-Electric has advised customers living in the affected areas to plan ahead and make necessary arrangements before the scheduled maintenance begins.
The utility said these planned outages are part of its regular preventive maintenance programme, which helps reduce unexpected faults, improve transformer performance and ensure a more reliable electricity supply across Karachi.
