Pakistan’s Young Innovators Begin AI Accelerator Programme to Build Next Generation of Startups

By Tanveer Ahmed :

A new group of young Pakistani innovators and entrepreneurs has started an eight-week artificial intelligence accelerator programme aimed at helping students transform technology ideas into practical solutions.

Change Mechanics has launched the second season of its League of Launchers programme in partnership with S&P Global, following the success of its first edition in 2025.

The initiative has selected 48 teams from across Pakistan, who will receive training, mentorship and technical guidance to develop functional Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) using artificial intelligence technologies.

Turning Ideas into Real Products

During the eight-week programme, participants will take part in hands-on workshops, mentoring sessions and business development activities designed to help them move from early concepts to working prototypes.

Organisers said the focus is not only on teaching AI skills but also on developing problem-solving abilities, entrepreneurship skills and the ability to create technology solutions for real-world challenges.

The programme will end with a Demo Day, where participating teams will present their projects to investors, technology leaders and members of Pakistan’s startup ecosystem.

The winning team will receive a cash prize of PKR 100,000 along with an opportunity to continue its journey through Taksh Venture Studio.

Industry and Community Support

The programme has received support from several technology and learning communities, including:

  • Google Developer Groups (GDG) Islamabad
  • Google Cloud Islamabad
  • Canva Community Islamabad
  • GDG Live Pakistan

Organisers said collaboration with technology communities and industry partners will provide participants access to wider expertise, networking opportunities and practical knowledge.

Preparing Pakistan’s AI Talent

Samia Abbasi, Senior Program Manager at S&P Global, said the partnership aims to provide young people with skills that can be applied in real-world technology environments.

“Our partnership with Change Mechanics for the League of Launchers Bootcamp is built around one goal — making sure Pakistan’s youth walks away with real, applicable skills,” she said.

She added that the programme is focused on preparing young builders to compete, create and lead in an increasingly technology-driven economy.

Growing Focus on Artificial Intelligence

Pakistan’s technology sector has seen increasing interest in artificial intelligence, with startups, universities and companies exploring AI-based solutions across areas such as education, healthcare, finance and business automation.

Technology experts say programmes that combine technical training with entrepreneurship support can help bridge the gap between learning AI concepts and building commercially viable products.

The organisers said League of Launchers Season 02 represents a continued effort to strengthen Pakistan’s startup ecosystem and encourage young innovators to develop locally created technology solutions.

With growing investment in AI worldwide, initiatives focused on developing local talent could play an important role in shaping Pakistan’s future digital economy.
