Punjab Police has identified a large number of personnel for what it termed inappropriate and excessive activity on the social media platform TikTok, prompting concerns over professionalism and internal discipline.
According to officials, an internal assessment revealed that hundreds of officers particularly in Lahore and other major urban centres were using the platform in ways that violated departmental guidelines. Authorities have prepared a detailed record containing names, belt numbers and account links of those involved.
Lahore reported the highest number of cases, with 165 officers found breaching social media conduct rules. Sialkot followed with 25 personnel identified, while Faisalabad and Multan each recorded 13 cases. Bahawalpur accounted for eight officers.
The review also covered specialised police units. Eighteen members of the Riot Management Police and 13 officers from the Elite Force were flagged, along with 14 from the Punjab Constabulary and 13 linked to various police training institutions.
Officials emphasised that clear social media regulations are already in effect, outlining acceptable conduct and professional boundaries for police employees. They added that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against those found violating the policy in order to safeguard the force’s credibility and uphold institutional standards.
