PAF Demonstrates Advanced Combat Readiness in Exercise Golden Eagle

By Tanveer Ahmed :

The Pakistan Air Force successfully carried out Exercise Golden Eagle in the area of responsibility of the Southern Air Command, with the objective of assessing combat readiness, operational effectiveness, and coordination across multiple domains. The exercise demonstrated the integrated use of the PAF’s full combat capabilities in a modern operational environment.

Designed on a two-opposing-forces concept, the exercise emphasized AI-supported and network-centric warfare while incorporating locally developed advanced, smart, and disruptive technologies to align with evolving regional security requirements.

Operating within a strong Integrated Air Defence System, friendly forces combined conventional air operations with cyber, space, and electromagnetic domain activities to shape the overall battlespace. The combat phase featured multi-role aircraft equipped with long-range beyond-visual-range missiles, precision-guided munitions, and extended stand-off weapons, supported by airborne early warning platforms and air-to-air refueling assets.

A major highlight of the exercise was the effective integration of manned and unmanned systems. Long-range strike drones and loitering munitions operated in a highly complex and contested environment, validating the PAF’s ability to conduct high-intensity operations under modern warfare conditions.

All operations were centrally coordinated through the Next-Generation All-Domain Command and Control Centre at Air Headquarters, Islamabad.

The successful completion of Exercise Golden Eagle reflects the Pakistan Air Force’s continued commitment to maintaining a high level of operational preparedness through indigenous innovation and its readiness to address current and future security challenges.
