Tanveer Ahmed:

Islamabad:Pakistan’s IT sector is making a bold impression at the inaugural GITEX Europe 2025 in Berlin, Germany, marking its largest-ever participation in a European tech expo. With over 100 companies—from dynamic startups to leading enterprise firms—joining national delegations, Pakistan is showcasing its growing digital capabilities, global outlook, and ambition to become a key player in the international tech arena.

GITEX Europe Debuts in Berlin

GITEX, short for Gulf Information Technology Exhibition, has long been recognized as one of the world’s premier technology events. Traditionally held in Dubai, GITEX Global has brought together tech giants, innovative startups, and government leaders from across the globe. In 2025, the event expanded into Europe for the first time with GITEX Europe—a landmark debut being hosted in Berlin, one of the continent’s most dynamic and innovative cities.

GITEX Europe has been designed to serve as Europe’s biggest tech and startup show, offering a global platform for innovation, investment, and international collaboration. The event spans across multiple sectors including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Fintech, Smart Cities, Cybersecurity, and Cloud Computing. With tech leaders, investors, venture capitalists, and policymakers in attendance, GITEX Europe is positioning itself as the continent’s new digital meeting point—and Pakistan is seizing this moment.

Pakistan’s Tech Momentum Reaches Europe

Participation in GITEX Europe 2025 is not just symbolic—it is a strategic move by Pakistan’s thriving IT industry. Over 100 companies and institutions from across the country’s tech ecosystem are making their way to Berlin, presenting a united front that reflects Pakistan’s digital capabilities, entrepreneurial spirit, and readiness to compete on the global stage.

This unprecedented participation represents the country’s strongest-ever presence at a European technology event, sending a powerful message: Pakistan is ready to grow beyond borders, eager to explore international partnerships, customers, and investment opportunities.

A Rising Force in the Global Tech Economy

Pakistan’s IT sector has experienced rapid growth over the past decade, with exports reaching over $2.6 billion annually and a target to cross $5 billion in the next few years. With a youthful population, over 20,000 IT graduates every year, and competitive service pricing, Pakistan is becoming an increasingly attractive destination for global outsourcing, innovation partnerships, and technology-driven solutions.

Moreover, the government has launched several initiatives to promote freelancing, startup funding, digital skills training, and IT infrastructure development. Special Technology Zones and incentives for tech exporters are further propelling the sector toward global competitiveness.

The Road Ahead

As the Pakistani delegation meets new partners, signs MOUs, and forges new alliances in Berlin, the ripple effects will be felt across Pakistan’s tech industry. The experience gained, relationships built, and deals made at GITEX Europe will fuel growth, drive exports, and inspire the next generation of innovators back home.
