The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB) has introduced a six-month paid digital internship programme aimed at empowering female graduates in the field of information technology across the province.
The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements by offering practical, workplace-based training. KPITB Managing Director Dr Akif Khan said the programme is designed to strengthen the professional capabilities of young women and improve their competitiveness in the job market.
Hands-On Experience with Financial Support
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs30,000 while gaining exposure to real-world projects. Training areas include web and app development, graphic design, UI/UX, artificial intelligence, web design, and digital marketing.
Officials say the programme also includes structured mentorship and career counselling sessions to guide participants in shaping long-term professional paths.
Who Can Apply
The internship is open to female candidates who:
-
Hold at least 16 years of education (Master’s degree) in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related ICT discipline
-
Graduated within the last three years or are fresh graduates with a course completion certificate
-
Possess domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including merged districts
Applicants with post-qualification job experience or those who have previously completed the KPITB digital internship are not eligible.
Selection Process
Candidates must apply through the official KP internship portal. Applications will undergo screening, followed by interviews and assessments to ensure placement in relevant roles. The final number of interns will depend on the volume of applications received.
KPITB officials say the programme aligns with broader efforts to enhance women’s participation in the technology sector and support the province’s digital transformation agenda.
