TikTok deletes 25m videos uploaded by Pakistani users in 3 months

Islamabad: TikTok removed nearly 25 million videos uploaded by Pakistani users during the first quarter of 2025, according to the platform’s latest report on the enforcement of community guidelines.

The report revealed that 24,954,128 videos were taken down in Pakistan for breaching content policies. Of these, 99.4 per cent were identified and removed through TikTok’s automated systems, while 95.8 per cent were deleted within 24 hours of being uploaded.

Globally, TikTok removed 211 million videos between January and March 2025 for violating its community standards, representing approximately 0.9 per cent of all uploaded content.

Of the total videos removed worldwide, more than 184.3 million were detected and taken down by automated moderation tools. Following review, over 75 million videos were reinstated.

The company said that hundreds of millions of videos are uploaded daily, with content assessed in accordance with its Community Guidelines. The pre-deletion rate stood at 99 per cent, with 94.3 per cent of flagged videos removed within a 24-hour period.

The report said that 30.1 per cent of deleted content addressed mature or sensitive topics inconsistent with TikTok’s content policies. A further 11.5 per cent breached the platform’s safety and decency standards, while 15.6 per cent violated privacy and security protocols.

Additionally, 45.5 per cent of videos were removed for spreading false information. Some 13.8 per cent were classified as manipulated media or content generated through artificial means.
